Alternatively, if you prefer using a stand alone software you can download to your computer without eating up your wallet, then, my favorite is Art Text Design for Mac, though you may still use softwares like WordArt or simply check out Envato Marketplace for some cool and affordable products that may be used for the same purpose. You may also use free print-on-demand websites like Teepublic to sell items with your artwork designs printed on them and make some cool money from that.

  1. Don’t like it because the tips are random: one for ebook, another for sth totally different. When you work with such a tool, you need a specific step by step tutorial.

    1. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I understand that my videos may not cater to everyone. My audience are predominately digital product creators which may not be your thing. Canva is quite a versatile tool which is what makes it great. I have other tutorials that are more specific like Canva text effects.

    1. If you are promoting Canva and want to earn a commission, then it’s a good idea to signup to their affiliate program.

  2. It is probably my first comment on Youtube. Saving brand colours tip was a GAME CHANGER for me!!! Thanks a lot Aurelius!

  3. Hi. Do you know how to download an animated sticker mp4 video with a transparent background? (I do have canva pro). Thanks!

    1. @Aurelius Tjin Sadly it looks like Canva changed their access to creating a template. That one would have saved me a TON of time. Anyway, lots of other great tips in here! A very simple one is how to easily access a later behind another one. I always dragged the top one out of the way, then got the one beneath it. Who new I could access it with a different click. πŸ™‚

  4. Out Standing Video, tips and tricks are but little bit fast don’t worry videos goes long but explain it little bit more in detail. Thanks very much for so valuable tips

  5. 30 sec in, i subscribed and liked….i use canva a lot and i’m ready to get better at it …imma be a Canva graphic designer Graduate from my couch haha..!!

  6. 07:30 No longer available. Also, no longer available the two folders on a free account.
I’ve been using a free account for years and now that Canva is serving me more often, I’ve decided to subscribe, so I’ll use your invite as a thank-you for so many great tips.

    1. Like, cut it out of an existing image to put on another? If so, Canva can’t quite do that unless you remove the background of the image except for the object you want. You can use other tools for that and then save the object as an image then upload to Canva to add to your other image. https://www.remove.bg/ should be able to remove backgrounds as Canva’s background remover isn’t as flexible. Alternatively, there are quite a few free apps allowing you to remove backgrounds.

  7. Wow, I am starting my business as an SMM and SEO, I need to use Canva to do more on my content and posting and blog. Thank you. This is so helpful tips as a starter.

  8. wow!!! I really liked the zoom of the green heart!! I use canva all the time and I didn’t know you can do that amazing zoom! Thank you so much for sharing this!!! Definitely ill use them, same with croping

  9. I subscribed; this video is a keeper. I have been using Canva for several years and this tutorial will certainly help me with design and most of all, saving time! πŸ˜€

  10. This is a great video but can you expand a little on adding a link to the content. I was able to add a link to a flyer and it works but when I email the flyer it emails as an attachment instead of in the body of the email. Once I got the flyer to send in the body of the email, now the link doesn’t work. (I hope this doesn’t sound to confusing) Can you help me with this?

  11. Great video im currently practicing canva to start may freelancing career. Thanks for this, i just subscribed and will wait for the next video!

  12. Tip18 : Isn’t that simple even on the pro version unfortunately,
was expecting you to choose an original image not something you’ve already worked on maybe on PS already ,
Could you please show us how to remove photos original backgrounds (not that Green one color ones)
without affecting or deforming the characters on the images ,
Looking forward for your answer ,
    Thanks.

  13. Hi Aurelius, thanks for the amazing sharing. I’ve followed you and can’t wait for more of your great sharing.
There’s one question is that, “Can we select more than one effect on the text wording ?”
For eg, I want the text to have (shadow) and (hollow) effect.
    Thanks for your help πŸ™‚

  14. Hello Aurelius, thank you so much for all theses tips. Unfortunately, I’m using an Ipad and some of your shortcuts are not working on it πŸ™ I would really like you help about it. Thanks ! Claire

  15. Thank you so much! Your video gave me the fix for some of the things I found really irratating about Canva. Wish I had know this sooner. Canva should hire you to do there videos.

    1. I’m so glad the video was helpful for you! Yes, even though Canva is quite an easy tool to use overall, there are still some things that could be done better and faster. I’m humbled you think that I should be hired by Canva. Thankfully, I’m a Canva Certified Creative and Ambassador, so I’m grateful to have input in future and present developments of Canva.

  16. I am having trouble with the background remover. On screen it looks great. Yet when I print it, the original background is showing up as a lighter color. Any ideas?

  17. black tshirt, black bookshelf, black hair. #Floatinghead. Sorry for being blunt. love your content, super informative.

  18. Very nice! Thx! Two questions. 1) Do you know if it’s possible to make our own “frames” (like 12:30 in your video), where an image can be inserted? 2) Do you know if there is any way to do “free transform” in Canva?

  19. Saving this for future reference. Excellent tutorial and I just signed up for Pro. Thank you!

    1. @Aurelius Tjin my problem is selecting from SOOOO many options and staying organized !

  20. Aurelius. How did you manage to minimize the video showing your face, by adding it to the bottom right of the screen?
    I’m a beginner!

  21. Thanks for the fantastic tutorial. How do I put a photo on top of another photo? The other one disappears every time I drag on top of it.

  22. please can you tell me how you actually did this video please
as I need to do some tutorials but I like the fact you can see you as well as the slides – and how do you zoom in and out seamlessly – please advise – thank you

  23. subbed thanks for the tips i didnt know about the duplicate hotkey and the rulers thing which I am so used to on Photoshop

  24. Excellent stuff! Just subscribed to your channel… Just watched a range of the topics you cover – this was so timely, thanks again, Mick

  25. WOW. There were so many things I “wished” Canva did… which are right in this video! THANK YOU Aurelius!!

  26. This is cool.cause I am not understanding how to use it very well..lolπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

  27. Hello, really nice video. Can we add clickable links in canva ? Like we can add web links but how to add phone numbers and email links ?

  28. Hello, how does one justify the text. Case in point, would be the prices on a menu. How do I align it such that both ends of the text are perfectly aligned and under one another?

    1. Yes, that is correct as I noted at 10:48. Canva Pro feature only. This feature alone is worth the subscription.

    1. Hi lets be friends.
Nuod muna tatlong minuto bago pindutin ang kampana at pulang boton. Para iwas basura ang ating mga boto. Tara

  29. Thanks for this amazing video. Wow.

I have a question for you. (Beginner alert.) I created a Canva graphic I liked for Instagram, then had the problem of uploading it. I work on my laptop because that’s where nearly all my photos are, and it’s more flexible. But Instagram doesn’t allow me to upload photos from the laptop. So I emailed the graphic to myself and downloaded it on my iPad. The iPad automatically puts the image in Files, and I can’t see a way to move it to Photos–which is all IG can see. After searching the web I found a way to get photos OFF the iPad and into the PC, but the way to get the photos directly onto the iPad from the PC doesn’t work. Do you have any tips on getting my Canva graphics on IG?

    Thanks again

  30. Along this tutorial I have been like “Ohhh really!? Ohhhhhhhhhh *o* ” Got the handy skills: “Creating my own template”, “Perrfect alignment” thank you so much!

    1. Hi Colleen. Most are available on a free Canva account. The background remover is is Pro feature as noted in the video.

  31. Brooooooo i have been doing all this before your video and there is no one else doing this!
A few more that u are missing though.. πŸ™‚

    1. You sure can. Just add the image you want to add as the background, click the Position button and click To Backward. You can also do it by simply clicking the “Bkground” option on the left-hand navigation bar.

  32. Thank You So Much For All Your Helpful And Useful Canva Tutorials. Can You Please Make A Tutorial Explaining How To Use Canva Only For Making A Podcast Episode. Thank You Again.

Wow! This is awesome, thank you so much Aurelius

  34. i got 2 tips for you:
1.- if you copy the link of a video (youtube or whatever) into your presentation, it links the video to your presentation and you can displayed it, this also works with presentations and pdf.
2.- If you want to have all the premium features without paying you can use the student version, for me i am at college and i created i classroom, i just have to send a link to my students (friends) and all of us can use premium for free

    1. @Aurelius Tjin dont worry. English is not my first language so i could have written something weirdly.
Btw in the tool bar at the end you can click more and connect your social media to canvas and use the pics from there, there are other apps like typeform, code qr, google maps, etc that you can link in your presentations

    2. @valeria aguilar Oh, sorry I misunderstood! I know Canva are supportive of education so it’s great to know they offer Canva for classrooms.

    3. @Aurelius Tjin i am a student tho, and all of my friends are students too, we use it for all of our group assigments since it is connected. I am on my second year of colleage

    4. Thanks for the tips. The YouTube idea is great! But not sure what Canva would think about giving away student accounts to non-students though πŸ€”

    1. Thanks Karl. I’ve been using it more heavily for a year now. I don’t think I’ve quite mastered it yet πŸ˜„

  35. Great tutorial, Aurelius! For weeks, I couldn’t figure out how to add shadow to text and I’ve been doing the hard way… The solutions was so easy πŸ™Š Thank you – you’ve got a new subscriber πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you! Glad you found an easy solution now πŸ™‚ The old way of duplicating the text is the hard way!

    1. Hi Trulli. I record my screen and myself separately. I use ScreenFlow for Mac to record my screen and my camera to record myself. I then join the two together in Screenflow.

    1. I make the majority of my thumbnails using Photoshop as I have a “master template” that includes layers of different shots and texts. I use Canva’s background remover for my thumbnails and sometimes remove.bg.

  36. You Superstar! You’ve just saved me hoursssss of learning, this condensed presentation is awesome πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘ŒπŸ†

  37. And another one! Great video with some very helpful tips. The mockup feature is a game changer. I had no idea Canva could do that. Keep it up my friend!

  38. Excellent info. Thanks for sharing. This will make using Canva much easier and efficient.
The time stamping adds the icing on the cake!
    James
