Master T-Shirt Design In Photoshop (Beginner Tutorial)

You can start your cool T-shirt design for free using either Canva or Placeit or even Envato Elelements. Alternatively, if you prefer using a stand alone software you can download to your computer without eating up your wallet, then, my favorite is Art Text Design for Mac, though you may still use softwares like WordArt or simply check out Envato Marketplace for some cool and affordable products that may be used for the same purpose. You may also use free print-on-demand websites like Teepublic to sell items with your artwork designs printed on them and make some cool money from that.

  1. AS A BEGINNER, THIS DID NOT HELP ME. WENT THROUGH THE STEPS TOO FAST, USING TERMINOLOGY I WASN’T FAMILIAR WITH AND WASN’T EXPLAINING WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WHY.

  2. 2020 and I’m still using Photoshop 7 haha…. it does everything I need. Someone at college gave me a pirated copy back in 2002 and I’m still rocking it haha.

  3. All other things are rightly done…but when i open 3D the Cp colors change into black automatically ..plz tell me why it happens and what’s the solution

  4. That font is not free for commercial purposes, it’s for personal use only. What are the risks using it?

  5. I have tried the “type on a path” things and I haven’t been able to do it….you are missing an explanation there.

  6. At 3:55 im having trouble putting the text on the top path of the elipse how do i do that, mine is always box type text

  7. The design tutorials are cool. But how are these getting printed on shirts. I have seen ways to make a design if your going to burn screens and screen print but they don’t bother wasting time colorizing everything. That’s done in screen. So how are you transferring all the colors and stuff right to the shirt. Is this designing method good for like iron on stuff or like what? Cuz you don’t screen print from this type of design I’m pretty sure

  8. Hey Charley! I want to take your classes…is there a specific version of photoshop thats needed? Will Elements work? I hate the subscription pricing…Thanks

  9. good video but a little too fast for me, i am a beginner user with photo shop. I used photo shop about 15 years ago wow things have really changed.

  10. i clicked the link for your Udemy course, it was $15.00. logged into my account then magicly went to $54.99. whats the go there?

  11. Hi Charlie
It’s great tutorial . I couldn’t find DDC hardware a free font to download. Could you please provide a link where to download ? Thank you 🙏

  12. Hey i think i need help with the advance options, I have the PS 2020 and i cant do the same step by step, could you showme please

  13. Hey Thanks! A HINT for you to share! Click on picture to get to back and forward video screen. There are three vertical buttons on the top right. Click on it, go to settings and change speed. I slow it down so I can hear it at a rate I can really hear each instruction!
Also, beginners don’t always use shortcuts. You might consider going to Files to select actions.

  14. When I type my own text ( 4:20 ) I can only type 3 or 4 letters and the rest are cut off do you know how to fix it

  15. Don’t think i caught it in the video but were you using the essentials window? didn’t seem like it to me.

    1. Cick on layers and have the elipse selected, above, on the panel, change shape to path, then you can click T and create a text that follow that path

  16. What do you save your files as when you upload to teespring ? Tiff? Png (large, medium, small)? Or something else ?

  17. Thank you so much for the amazing tutorial bro. But in my system all but get more content..and 3rd print utilities.. are faded. I’m not able apply New 3d excursion. I’m using cc2014. I shall be grateful if you solve my problem. Please help me bro.

  18. If I’m willing to create a design for both Tshirts and Mugs, what canvas dimensions should i pick? Should I worry later on if I resize my whole work to a smaller dimension, that it will look pixelated? I know it will, so should I consider that the design should not/ever be resized at all (like I wont have a choice later on to resize it because it’ll look pixelized?) I REALLY DON’T WANNA USE ILLUSTRATOR BCS IT’S A LOVE-HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT ONE.

  19. you need to understand that people who are beginners watching this are not going to be familiar with everything you say so you need to be ALOT slower and explain things a bit better

    1. I’m going to be Blunt… this is a free tutorial and I’m teaching a lot of hard to find tips… if I’m going too fast slow down the video of rewatch it. Not everyone will hold your hand in life that’s not how things work. Sitting here complaining about how I didn’t go slow enough just seems like some people are crying. I didn’t even have these types of tutorials when I started off back in 2011. I taught myself and worked my ass off. If you find this too fast and want to complain unsub and go watch other tutorials 🤷‍♂️ .

    2. You can buy overal photoshop course for 9 dolars just like his course. Im on 3rd section of 14 and I already understand most of what hes saying and doing. So is it for total beginers? no…but you dont have to have a lot of knowledge to learn it.

  20. i love your videos and the way you share your knowledge i have watched you quietly grow well done charley …wish i was well enough to do your classes but at this stage i am not …but love looking at your videos thanks so much

  21. This is annoying. Not all of us can put the shortcut from Mac to PC you gotta translate please shits mad confusing

  22. To get rid of that heavy bassy sound in your voice overs you can add a high pass filter or a bass-cut. Great stuff tho. I’m learning a lot about design from you

  23. Hey Charley, I’ve really been enjoying your tutorials. Are we allowed to send you questions through your Instagram? I sent you a few but you may be too busy to see them. Anyway have a great day 💯

  24. I’m just wondering what if I put a photo of stranger people on my shirt like images on google, but I’m not gonna sell it. Is it ok?

  25. Hey Charley! Always love the stuffs you come up with!!
Just one request.. Can you make some tutorials for t-shirt design with all over print/sports jerseys??

  26. Your the best man, I couldn’t draw not even a little bit until I started watching your videos and I’m learning a lot getting better little by little.

  27. I’ve watched a few of your videos and I’m sure you’ve answered this before. But is it best to learn illustrator to design t shirts or photoshop (anyone with knowledge can answer this)?

    1. I always recommend using illustrator since it is vector based. But honestly it’s good to know both programs because they both can do different things.

  28. Nice video mate keep it up, can you please give dimension for pixellab please, because I’m using Android phone

  29. Keep up the good work man! Still such an underrated channel! As a former printer, my only input for creating on Photoshop would be the average shop can only go about 15″ wide by 17″ long so your canvas is perfect but just in case to those that don’t know, make it much larger because it can only be scaled down, not up. Your content is exceptional and you’re giving people incredible knowledge! 👌

    1. Charley Pangus My pleasure. I appreciate what you’re doing! It’s clear you have experience in printing as well and I shared that point because I’ve printed design from people that didn’t know that and the print turns out really pixelated and sloppy around the edges

    1. @Charley Pangus thank you so much for the teach us beautiful design if t shirt.

don’t forget to jersy type of design please.
