You can start your cool T-shirt design for free using either Canva or Placeit or even Envato Elelements. Alternatively, if you prefer using a stand alone software you can download to your computer without eating up your wallet, then, my favorite is Art Text Design for Mac, though you may still use softwares like WordArt or simply check out Envato Marketplace for some cool and affordable products that may be used for the same purpose. You may also use free print-on-demand websites like Teepublic to sell items with your artwork designs printed on them and make some cool money from that.

Well I’m doing it on a Lenovo tablet will this work as well as a computer?
Hey! We don’t have experience using Lenovo tablets, and it also depends on the operating system your tablet has. Lenovo tablets use one of three operating systems; Android, Windows, or Chrome. You can have a look at this blogpost which makes it easier to browse by supported platforms ➡️ https://www.printful.com/blog/adobe-photoshop-alternatives/
Im so new at this still trying to understand whose going to make these shirts we create?
We’re not sure if we’ve understood your question correctly, but all orders are fulfilled by our colleagues who are working in the fulfillment centers. You can see how the whole process works here: https://www.printful.com/how-printful-works 😊
nice and easy.
thank you.
Photoshop is easy to use? Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣 you lost me there pal
When we create a design using canva free elements, is it allow from etsy?? (I mean design t-shirt using prinfull and connect etsy)
@Printful Custom Printing thank you. 😊
We’d suggest always checking this with the author of the photo/element and if needed, consulting with a legal specialist on this matter. Also—checking out this blog article we’ve made could help you out > https://www.printful.com/blog/copyright-and-trademark-printing/ 😊
THERE IS ONLY 1 PROGRAM.
THAT WORKS WITH ALL TIPES OF FILES. BIG OR SMALL.
Of course, there are more design apps than these five that we’ve mentioned in this video. Please feel free to browse through other available options—at the end of the day, it’s all about everyone’s individual preferences, so it’s very important to find the one the works the best for you ❤️
Yeaaa more Apps.
0:01 ok sirr
Hi I use more mobil
Hey! As it’s a personal preference, we suggest downloading these apps and testing them out yourself to see what better suits your needs 😊
Can you let me know which is better for Mobil?
Canva is my go to! This is a great tutorial for tshirt design with canva https://youtu.be/PPRbTm4OEDE
What’s the best one
It’s a tough question, and we won’t really be able to answer as they’re all different in terms of their features and functionality, and in the end of the day, it really does depend on your own personal preferences, design specifics, and other important aspects 😊
There are good iPad apps: Vectornator and Procreate
im just trying to figure out what software is best to cut out a background so i can use transfer paper
@Anni get affinity photo software
@Lottie Bevan it doesn’t allow to download high pixels photos for free☹️
if you want to get rid of a background from an image, you can use remove.bg 🙂
I operate on chrome os. How can I make an image at a high resolution for Teespring? Every dpi increaser I find is fake. I’m just in a deep hole of confusion
Hey, we’re not sure what are requirements for Teespring, but from this list, it’s definitely possible to increase resolution on Canva. Here’s a tutorial on how to do it ➡️https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjDh5PmHiyM 😊
Which is the best for T-Shirt designs????
We’re afraid, we won’t be able to advise you on this one—it really depends on the design you have in mind, as well as your preferences in terms of app functionality, and other reasons. They all are great for creating new t-shirt designs 😊
i used canva but printful wouldnt accept it’s png files because it can only produce 120 dpi png. is there a way to get 300 dpi png in canva?
Here’s a video tutorial of how to adjust image resolution on Canva ➡️https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjDh5PmHiyM 😊
Adobe after affects didn’t work on my Mac so now I’m here

Hey, we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t find the video useful. Our intention is to always provide our audience with inspiring and useful content, however, we do appreciate you sharing your feedback.

Awaiting for your response .
@Printful Custom Printing thank you☺
Hey! We suggest using the software of your preference as long as you follow our print file guidelines. Here’s a detailed article about everything you need to know ➡️ https://www.printful.com/blog/everything-you-need-to-know-to-prepare-the-perfect-printfile/ 😊
Hi Wes, I come up with ideas for t-shirts, but I’m not an artist. I created a custom t-shirt through Custom Ink, and I wear it myself. I’d love to find a company that prints on-demand, that will help with the design, so I can sell them. Also with jewelry too. Any advice? I’d love to just take one idea, create it, have someone host it, figure the marketing and launch. My goal is to make $300.00 per week after taxes etc. My financial goals are simple and not large at the moment. Thanks!
Hey, Carla, you can take a look at our store setup and design services to help you create your designs and launch your store ➡️https://www.printful.com/services 🧐 However, we don’t offer marketing services at the moment, so we suggest looking for a professional in this field that could help you drive the traffic to your store.
Can’t i use photo shop?
If you wish so, you can certainly use Photoshop as well 😊
I mostly use Adobe Draw on Android 🙂
Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us! It’s good to know what our customers prefer to use. 😊
would any of these apps work with Cricut explore 2?
These apps are created for iOS or Android devices. We’re no experts with Cricut explore 2, however, it looks like this cutting device requires its specific app to navigate it.
Hi it is Richard from Surf Talk Live News in Johannesburg South Africa, I have clicked on your web link and have made products to sell and I would like to know if you can s
hip to South Africa and can I get a better deal on the items? Thanks from Richard.
Hey Richard, unfortunately, at the moment, we don’t ship to South Africa due to restrictions in place. You can see the full list of the countries we currently don’t ship to here > https://www.printful.com/covid-19 (under the “Shipping” section below). We regularly evaluate the situation and update the page accordingly. As for better deals, we’re not entirely sure how you mean this. We have two types of discounts: bulk discounts > https://help.printful.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014009700-Are-there-any-discounts-for-bulk-orders- and monthly discounts > https://www.printful.com/monthly-discounts Perhaps that helps!

Are these available on Android?
@Printful Custom Printing I found these to be softwares, ain’t available as apps for Android phones 🙁
Yes, they should be available on Android. 🙂
Please answer my question , can i use abstract designed images from google , to create a design of a tshirt , is it illegal , or i use a design from google images and make a phone case ?
Hey! If you download these pictures without a permission of the creator and these pictures are not available on the public domain, then this would be a violation of copyrights.
This man look like pubg charecter
Can we use these tools for commercial selling online?
I want to iron on Bible verses on hats, ect. Which one is best for that and which one will give me the most fonts?
Hi, which app do you prefer for a beginner to create designs for clothing ?
Hey! If these free apps seem too complicated to you, you can create designs with our mockup generator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB2IaQGoSMw Simple and easy to use!

Sir what should be the size of image for designing

True 👌🏾😭😭
So what the best for clothing design?please answer Thanks
It really depends on what features you would like the app to have! Easiest and most similar to Photoshop is probably GIMP 🙂
I use mobile but have never tried to make anything work
@Gareth Holness thanks
Use pixelab on mobile or PicsArt they are the best free apps and the have alot
Wish you the best. Thanks. 1Corint15:1-4
They’re not apps!!! They’re websites!!!!
I’m interested to know if I can use Canva designs with Merch by Amazon, and other similar websites? I can’t seem to find any information that could clarify this for me.
same here! I wanna use canva free and paid elements but I am not sure it’s its allowed!
Are any of these available on smartphone
Canva is
I want to design my own mobile legends shirt!
Thanks God I get free Adobe CC 2019… however I would say that if I didn’t would buy Affinity Designer and Photo… once you get it is yours!
If not I would just used Krita…
… I would never recommend GIMP… learning curve sucks and it doesn’t work like anything else.
How u get it ?
Thanks for sharing!👍🏾
Good
Where can we get free illustrations that we don’t have to edit?
Hey Diana, you can check some of ours that are available in the File library as sample files. Make sure to also check our free cliparts. 🙂
So helpful
I feel like canva was a sponsor
what’s the best pocket tee print on demand? Printful doesn’t do it
Gravit designer is another great vector design program.
@Fulla Sugga Yes it is
Is Gravit Designer free?
What is a vector?
hi there, can I use those for commercial design selling online?
Mobile iPad Pro with procreate
I use desktop to design
How ?
for years I have been using https://www.getpaint.net/…i did not see you mention this. I like it
Thanks for the great video that helps a lot. However, I’m a bit confused about fonts licensing. Adobe’s subscription allows to use its fonts for printing. What about the fonts included in those apps? Are they free to be used for commercial print?
Thank you
Hey Alexander, we’re not sure about it. You should reach out to these design apps to learn more about it.
What’s the best to do all over print, sublimation, and patterns???
Hi there, it’s up to your preferences which design app to use. They all should be suitable for all over print, sublimation, and pattern designs. 🙂
Sketchbook Pro is free now. It does rastor graphics!
@QuL3x IV make sure you have a Wacom tablet
@QuL3x IV it’s pretty good. Lots of custom brushes to upload or create yourself
kenneth taylor is it good?
is it kree-ta or critter? 😂
It’s Krita (https://krita.org/en/)
Where i can find the info about limitation for Canva FREE icons to insure they can be used for printing and commercial purposes? I tried contacting them, but they never replied. So currently i am doing my T-shirt design with their free icons but still want to make sure that i do everything legal and correctly.
Please help.
Thank you so much for this very useful and important information on the video.
@Printful Custom Printing Thank you.
Hi there, we won’t be able to help you with Canva related questions but you may find this page useful: https://support.canva.com/contact/customer-support/
There are no mobile apps here. Take oShirt for example https://oshirtshop.com has all the features of Canva, many that are hard to do in Photoshop and full of fonts, shapes, emojis, photos etc. Best part is you can design on an actual t-shirt not on a rectangle!
Love this!
“Free”….”subscribe to their monthly..” ended video quick
So helpful, thanks!!
Adobe photoshop cc has live symmetry tool, which one of these have the same??
@Printful Custom Printing Hey, Krita is the Best Thanks For That, Actually i already have photoshop cs6 but it didnt have symmetry tool, i did symmetry work in krita and then imported it in photoshop and i am feeling like a pro now 🙂 i also follow you on instagram
@Printful Custom Printing Yeah I will try it now, no other option than trying 🙂 Thank You
Hey, Krita has the Wrap Around Mode that works similarly to Adobe’s Live Symmetry Tool. You can see how it works at 3:07. 🙂
I’ll be using Affinity Designer.
I tried using both the free and paid versions of Canva. Every single design I worked on had a dpi that was too low for printful. I couldn’t find any help at all and no way to contact someone at Canva to find out why or if I was doing something wrong.
@Angie Bee
You mean make your size of project that size to start?
u have to max out the dpi, 5000×5000
I had to same problem, using PNG with Transparent option, then using 3x size (pixels around 4000) gave a good DPI
Hey Claudia, did you try creating bigger designs in terms of dimensions? That should fix the DPI issue.
Alguien que lo tradusca a español? Almenos lo mas importante gracias
¡Hola! Acabamos de añadir subtítulos en español. Tal vez quieres volver a echar un vistazo de nuevo al vídeo. 🙂
I love Canva for doing my social media stuff. I have macs but use my iPad Pro all day. Canva is more fully featured on the web browser version for Mac. The iOS safari version is ok too but there are some element resizing limits. For designing in vector I love Affinity Designer. For doing raster art I use Procreate. I have a bunch of others but those are my main players. I rarely use my Adobe suite anymore. It’s a great time to be a designer. The equipment and software has been broadly democratized and thanks to Printful, we can run smaller independent online stores. You guys are shaking up the game and I’m loving it.
You guys do a great job, thanks for putting this list together and sharing the highlights. I use an old desktop version of PS Elements which lacks some of functions I need so I’m looking for alternatives. Also, thank you for mentioning the offline/online options because as someone living remotely and relying on a data plan for wifi, the ability to work offline is critical! Very pleased with Printful!
I use gravit, its free. I didn’t like gimp as much.
Ruler*
Thanks for this👍🏾👍🏾
Our team is going to love this!
Really helpful info, shame you didn’t include links in the description below though. Cheers
iam thetshirt Use keyboard ⌨️
Why not add the links to these tools in your description
Michael Alvanos It’s “Typing Quest”. You’re never using keyboard in your gadget?
THANKYOU
Thanks ‘. Mate
I use Gimp on my Chromebook. I turn on Linux to run on it first.
And you can change the keyboard short cuts to what ever you want. So you can change it to be the same as Photo Shop.
Bert Henry how am I able to do this?
Affinity Designer is just as good, on some parts better, than Adobe Illustrator and way cheaper (one time payment instead of subscription).
Someone said the text was horrible on Affinity, especially for tshirt design. Any thoughts?
Right
Great video, that is an awesome info
Very cool. Good tips 👍
Superb info! Thanks! 😘 For your information some people use iPads for work with your service only.
For example I use: Pixelmator and Artstudio Pro (for raster) , Graphic (for vector), Canva, and Safari browser (for use your mock-up generator and Shopify) That’s all work on my old iPad mini 2 (and even on iPhone we can use this stuff)
This is minimalistic version for creative designers.
“Printful always in my pocket” 😃😂
